The Halal Standard Committee of the Central Religious Organization – The Muslim Religious Board of the Republic of Tatarstan was established in 2005 to oversee the production and sale of halal products, the production of which began to develop intensively in Russia. In order to avoid fake and counterfeit halal products entering the market, the same year by the Halal Standard Committee under the SCM RT and CJSC Test-Tatarstan Republican Certification Methodological Center (certifying on behalf of the state agency Russia), “General requirements for the production and sale of products labeled“ Halal ”(HALAL)” were developed.
